A new Web site for leasing office space aimed at commercial tenants and
landlords rather than brokers and agents has been launched.
TenantWise.com provides information and resources to search,
negotiate and finalize leases for office space. The site features listings
of available space, bidding calculators and recent taking terms of leasing
transactions, as well as live-person assistance and advice. Also available
are brokers to assist companies through the leasing process and listings of
goods and service providers.
The site is being marketed as the rare commercial real estate site that's
not broker-centric. Rather, TenantWise.com provides information for
commercial tenants to “take greater control of the occupancy process,” the
company said. It also allows landlords to list properties free of charge.
The site hopes to draw users by offering commission savings to tenants and
landlords during transaction time. For example, a tenant leasing 10,000
square feet of space could save $40,000 by using the site in a typical
transaction, the company said.
The service is currently available in Manhattan and will soon be rolled out
to office markets across the country.
